"Walpurgis Night" on the stage of "Astana Ballet" Theater is a new reading of the famous ballet staged by Georgy Kovtun, based on traditions of classical Russian ballet.

The ballet is inspired by extraordinary life and delightful music of the French singer Edith Piaf.

The work conveys love for Abay’s poetry, filled with deep philosophical experiences and reflections, tenderness, and sadness.

The choreographer showed his admiration to women, relying on the ancient Chinese philosophy, according to which female nature is akin to elements of the "yin" and is associated with two seasons - autumn and winter.
