“Astana Ballet is an experience that needs to be adopted,” - Andris Liepa

“Astana Ballet” opened a tour in Tashkent with an amazing program, which included the best examples of Kazakh choreographic art, as well as staging from the theatre’s neoclassical repertory - the ballet “A Fuego Lento”. The full auditorium of the Bolshoi Theater of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi did not skimp on applause and rave reviews, over and over again calling for an encore Kazakhstan artists.

The Tashkent public did not hide their enthusiasm for the beauty and grace of the national Kazakh dance, which formed the basis of the concert program “The Heritage of the Great Steppe”. It included choreographic miniatures created by domestic masters of dance art - Mukaram Avakhri and Aigul Tati. In their works, they appeal to ethnographic materials, history and traditions of the Kazakh people, translating them into the language of modern choreography.

- Very good technical equipment, the light is amazing, everything works to make the ballet look modern without losing elements of national plastic decisions. I really like the selection of musical material. We are also trying to do something similar here, and I think we need to learn from the good experience that you have in Kazakhstan, - said Andris Liepa, artistic director of the Bolshoi Theater of Uzbekistan, People's Artist of Russia.

- What we saw on stage today makes an indelible impression. I think this is a great example of how to preserve national art, adapting it to modern realities. A deep bow to both the artists and the creators of these productions. One feels a careful attitude to national art, this can be seen in the harmonious combination of choreography with musical material, national dresses and, of course, the energy that the artists broadcast, it’s amazing, - said Kamola Davutova, a fan of ballet art.

In the second part, the audience was presented with a sensual one-act ballet staged by the Brazilian choreographer Ricardo Amarante “A Fuego Lento”. The artists managed to embody the burning element of passion on stage, which encompasses a person when he discovers the first feelings of love and desire. The special plastic language of the choreographer is distinguished by grace and sophistication, and at the same time sensuality and playfulness. The brilliant performance technique and the energy intensity emanating from the artists conquered the Uzbek public, the applause and exclamations of “bravo” did not subside, even when the curtain hid the stage. The variety of the program announced in the tour poster perfectly illustrates the creative possibilities of the Kazakh collective: from characteristic dances to contemporary dance, from classical to neoclassical.

“A striking transformation in the second compartment! One gets the feeling that two completely different, but equally professional teams performed. I would like to note the high level of artists, not every ballet company can do this. I enjoyed music and choreography immensely, I was as if mesmerized because I could not take my eyes off the stage. Now we are looking forward to the next performance, we will definitely visit the ballet “The Legend of Love” - Tashkent resident Temur Rashidov shared his impressions
