The “Astana Ballet” Theater presented its December playbill of events, which included performances and concert programs traditional for winter holidays.
On December 12 at 18:00 the audience will be presented with the two-act ballet "Cinderella" to the music of Sergei Prokofiev. The part of Cinderella and the Prince will be performed by the leading soloists Tatyana Ten and Kazbek Akhmedyarov. Due to the limited number of people in the auditorium, tickets for the performance are no longer on sale, but Cinderella will reappear in the theater's playbill in January next year.
On December 16, at 18:00, the national divertissement the "Heritage of the Great Steppe" dedicated to the Independence Day of Kazakhstan will be shown. The program of the festive concert will include the best examples of national choreography staged by Kazakhstani ballet masters.
From December 24 to December 31, the “Astana Ballet” Theater proposes to spend the outgoing year 2020 watching one of the most popular ballets in the world - the “Nutcracker” (choreography by Vasili Vainonen). The performance is based on the well-known plot of the German fairy tale by E. Hoffmann in the retelling of A. Dumas the father about the doll and the mouse king. The ballet has won worldwide fame and has become a traditional symbol of the New Year holidays. There are numerous interpretations of the Nutcracker, but it is Vasili Vainonen's version that is shown in many of the world's leading theaters. The famous ballet was staged by People's Artist of the Russian Federation Altynai Asylmuratova at the “Astana Ballet” Theater.
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, artists have begun to master new forms of communication with the public. So, on the air of TK AbaiTV, two performances from the theater's repertoire were shown - "A Journey of a Memory" by Raimondo Rebeck, "Love Fear Loss" by Ricardo Amarante, and on December 28 the TV viewers will be shown a documentary film "The Phenomenon of Kazakh Dance at the “Astana Ballet” Theater.
