Vivaldi+

«Vivaldi +» is a dialogue between eras, where the baroque music of Antonio Vivaldi meets the sound world of composers of the 20th and 21st centuries, forming a cohesive and expressive musical canvas.

The first part of the concert features works by Antonio Vivaldi:

Violin Concerto in E minor «Il Favorito» RV 277,

Concerto for Violin and Cello in B major RV 547,

Concerto for Two Violins and Cello in D minor RV 565,

as well as Trio Sonata in D minor «La Folia» RV 63 - one of the composer’s most recognizable and dramatic works.

These compositions reveal the full spectrum of baroque expression, showcasing the virtuosity of the soloists and the subtle dialogue of chamber music.

The program continues with contemporary works. In Duet for Two Violins and String Orchestra by Steve Reich, rhythm and repetition create a sense of motion and inner pulse. Arvo Pärt’s Summa draws the listener into a space of silence and spiritual contemplation, while Horal for String Orchestra by Kuat Shildebayev adds philosophical depth and a distinctive national intonational color to the concert.

The evening concludes with an encore - Echorus for Two Violins and Strings by Philip Glass, whose echo-like motifs gently summarize the entire musical journey.
