The harp can tell a story without a single word — from the grandeur of the Baroque era to the enchanting music of Russian Romanticism.
“Strings of Time” is a concert where the sound of the harp becomes a guide through different eras, styles, and musical imagery. The programme brings together works by Handel, Bach, Schubert, Mussorgsky, and Tchaikovsky, alongside compositions created specifically to showcase the harp’s virtuoso capabilities.
Performed by Diana Arykbaeva, the programme features exquisite and technically demanding works — from Handel’s Prelude and Toccata, arranged by Marcel Grandjany, and Bach’s Chaconne to the renowned Ave Maria, Dawn over the Moscow River, and a virtuoso fantasy based on themes from the opera Eugene Onegin.
The concert will be further enriched by guest musicians — violist Tomiris Baigazinova and cellist Mikhail Pilyavsky. Their ensembles with the harp will create delicate tonal combinations, bringing intimacy, depth, and emotional expressiveness to the performance.
