The “Mangi Yel” festive concert and the premiere of the choreographic miniature “Qarlygash”

The programme for the festive concert “Mangi Yel”, dedicated to Republic Day, will feature a selection of choreographic pieces that embody the invaluable richness and diversity of Kazakh traditional dance, which is inextricably linked to the history and culture of the Kazakh people. Thanks to the skill of the dancers and the imagination of the choreographers, the most important and most beautiful type of dance is presented on stage: bright, colourful and diverse folk stage dance. It is a kind of encyclopedia of the life of the people, a reflection of their aspirations, wisdom and perseverance.

The audience will get to see the choreographic miniature “Qarlygash” for the first time. Aigul Tati, the Honoured Figure of Kazakhstan, created a choreographic composition called “Baqyt Qusy Qarlygash”, which is full of spring warmth, endless tenderness and soft, radiant light, to the music of People’s Artist of the Kazakh SSR Akhmet Zhubanov. In Kazakh culture, the qarlygash (a swallow bird) is seen as a symbol of happiness, comfort, and spring. Every girl dreams of happiness, which is symbolised by a swallow. As she leaves her homeland, she dreams of building her nest and becoming the keeper of family traditions. A story about a dream and the pursuit of happiness is brilliantly told in dancing language in “Qarlygash”. The costumes for the choreographic miniature were designed by Muslim Zhumagaliyev, the Honoured Figure of Kazakhstan.
