“Capriccio for piano and Orchestra” (Rubies) is one of the parts of the “Jewels” performance that adorns the repertoires of the world’s leading theatres. The best-known choreographer and creator of the New York City Ballet, George Balanchine, being inspired by the artistry of the jewelry designer of “Van Cleef &Arpels”, created a ballet about precious stones, in which he elegantly expressed his life story and love for all stages of his creative career. “Capriccio for Piano and Orchestra” to the music of Igor Stravinsky is a vivid and dynamic ballet with fantastic energy. The action is characterized by emotional intensity, and shines with all facets of fiery passion. The production of George Balanchine has been prepared in collaboration with the George Balanchine Trust and implemented in accordance with the standards of style and technique.
