The capital loves art, or Anshlag in "Astana Ballet"

ASTANA, June 25 - Sputnik, Ayguzel Kadir.

Light canvases with photos of Kazakhstan ballet stars, statuettes of air ballerinas - foyer of "Astana Ballet" theater was decorated in gentle colors shortly before the grandiose premiere of famous "Giselle". Later, the director of Eurasian Dance Festival, Alisher Khasanov, would call the style as "Flight of Dance".

On Sunday evening, the ballet "non-stop" was launched under the stormy applause of ladies in luxurious dresses and their restrained companions: from June 24 to June 30, the national ballet of Slovenia, GATOB named after Abai, Chinese National Ballet, Spanish CastroRomero, leading soloists of the national ballet of Portugal and Holland, the Bolshoi Theater (Russia), the Stuttgart Ballet, Astana Opera and Astana Ballet will present their performances to the capital public.

Three-four years ago, according to the executive director of the festival Zhanybek Kayir, such large-scale events were bypassed by the city of white-collar workers.

"Let's face it: Astana is a more primitive city than Almaty, there are a lot of cultural events in Almaty, but Astana is getting more and more involved in culture thanks to such festivals." Astana spectator is already in no way inferior to Almaty. The viewer finally began to understand that this is necessary for us," Kayir shared.

Disputes between the inhabitants of modern capital and the apple city seem to have become a domestic "el-classico". That's the director of "Astana Ballet" Valery Kuzembaev stood up for the local audience.

“Tickets were sold a long time ago and in advance to all performances of the festival. Today, our Astana spectator demonstrates a great interest in art, the ballet, in particular," Kuzembayev said.

"Are they superior to Almaty citizens?" Askar Buribayev, director and artistic head of the State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Abay, asked jokingly.

Still, the speakers agreed on one thing: often, spectators educate people of art.

Experienced connoisseurs and those, who came to the first rendezvous with ballet, went to the auditorium whispering about something. But before sitting in armchairs, their gaze stayed on the young dancers: the theater festival started with a small performance by Russian choreographer Alisher Khasanov.

Trills of the call took the ladies and gentlemen to vindictive villis, which, as promised by the choreographer Ricardo Amarante, struck with their realism. Leading soloist of "Astana Ballet" Dilara Shomayeva passed the whole palette of emotions, which her heroine Giselle experienced. Even after death, the young peasant woman did not cease to love Count Albert, who betrayed her (performed by the leading soloist of the theater Farkhad Buriyev). Gisselle saved him from wrath of dead brides, and disappeared at dawn, leaving only memories to Albert.

A wave of applause flooded the artists, and the screams of "Bravo" flew towards the stage even after the curtain fell. "I fell in love with Giselle's dress," "Myrth (mistress of villis) was delicious," the audience shared with each other impressions from viewing the ballet by composer Adolf Adan for a long time.

The scene of "Astana Ballet" will soon turn into a portal and transfer to the magic world of dance. Astana residents have a great opportunity to prove they are not indifferent to art in a cold city with a piercing wind.
