Filming took place in the young heroine’s native village and in the capital theater "Astana Ballet", so the director managed to show the main character’s power of dream and the mystery of ballet profession without embellishment.
"Every person should have a dream. Especially, it's important for a child. I wanted to show how important is to see a child's dream, to help put it into practice and sow the seeds of passion and love for profession. Such a Narkyz lives in every corner of Kazakhstan. I would like the support of talented children to become the main goal in our country. And of course, I was interested in the world of ballet. We do not know much, we see only a beautiful picture on the stage. During the filming I changed my attitude towards artists who work daily at the limit of human possibilities," Kanat Beisekeyev wrote in his Instagram account.
Little Narkyz from Shieli village in Kyzylorda region, dreams of becoming a ballerina from the early childhood. During the regional selections of the capital Academy of Choreography, she passed the exams and entered the school. "We could not even dream about it," the future ballerina’s mother confesses in the film.
The camera follows the girl from the countryside of her homeland to the capital of Kazakhstan, in the heart of which the theater "Astana Ballet" was founded - the country's youngest theater, combining national style, neoclassicism and modern choreography.
Narkyz has a unique chance to enter not only the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography, where her studies will take place, but also to attend behind the scenes of the theater before a premiere. Every child who is studying choreography and dancing in our country today, dreams to connect their lives with the theater.
The main heroine watches tremblingly how the actors prepare to enter the stage, listens to their instructions and encourages, and her desire to become a ballerina and glorify her native country grows stronger.
