According to numerous requests from viewers who could not attend the premiere of the one-act neoclassical ballet “Love's Lost Idols” on November 2-3 to the music of Italian composer Ezio Bosso, on December 1-2, in the first part of the modern ballet evening, the theater will perform it again.
The performance, perceived by the audience on “Yay!”, became a kind of response of the American choreographer Nicolo Fonte to the eternal philosophical question: “How not to stop living and loving, knowing that all this will ever end?” With the help of an expressive, and sometimes even extreme language of dance, artists tell viewers: “All you need is to live here and now, to feel and love at this moment, without looking into the future!”
The invited choreographer of the Astana Ballet Theater, Ricardo Amarante, noted earlier that while working with this choreographer in Europe, he had witnessed how rapidly the audience reacted to his productions. Kazakhstan in this regard was no exception - the performance on the days of the premiere broke the squall of applause, the hall refused to let the dancers go and demanded continuation. "Astana Ballet" responded to the requests of the audience.
No less interesting and emotional production, which will be shown in the second part of the evening, will be the one-act ballet, already loved by the public, under the direction of Ricardo Amarante “A Fuego Lento” to the music of Lalo Schifrin and Astor Piazzolla. Despite the fact that the premiere of this production took place on October 5, 2016, the performance continues to be relevant and equally exciting to this day, showing the elegant and unique plastic language of the choreographer, and calling the most enthusiastic reviews of viewers and ballet critics.
“A fuego Lento” allows the audience to experience the whole range of feelings that arise when a young man and girl meet: from first interest to all-consuming passion. This is a ballet about how a person discovers his first feelings of love and desire. The feeling of increasing heat and emotional heat - all this slowly burns from the inside. Each scene is a passion clothed in seductive rhythms of sensual tango.
In order to create an emotional heat, the choreographer uses elements of the Brazilian samba dance. It is this incendiary sparkling flavor that distinguishes this formulation from other performances in the repertoire of the theater. He is equally loved by both the audience and the artists.
Note, this is the 5th Anniversary season of the Astana Ballet Theater, which prepares many surprises for its audience. “Beibars” could be the closest premiere, on which the chief choreographer of the theater, Mukaram Avakhri, is currently actively working.
As an exception, she opened the veil a little and said that it will be an unusual performance in two acts, with unfolded storyline. A kind of experiment where artistic and stage decisions will perform on equals. The exact date of the premiere is still unknown.
“I think it will be a film ballet. We hope that this will give our scene an unusual experience. The main goal is to immerse the viewer into the atmosphere of a story about a person who has gone from being a slave warrior to a ruler”, shared Mukaram Avakhri
