On November 9 and 10, the legendary performance of Yuri Grigorovich “The Legend of Love” returns to the stage of the “Astana Ballet” Theatre. The show will be accompanied by a symphony orchestra under the direction of conductor Arman Urazgaliyev.
The leading parts are prepared by the leading soloists of the theatre: Farkhad Buriyev, Ilya Manaenkov, Ainur Abilgazina, Anar Dukiyeva, Darina Kairasheva and others. According to the chief choreographer, each artist has their own interpretation of the role. They enrich their characters with new colors, making them lively, deep and multi-layered.
The epic drama about love, sacrifice and duty has been staged since 1961 at the Mariinsky and the Bolshoi theaters, the Istanbul Opera House and the Prague National Theater.
The premiere in Nur Sultan took place this summer. Then the first foreign show of the performance on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre of Uzbekistan took place. Critics warmly accepted the ballet performed by Kazakhstani artists, noting the emotional depth of the main characters, the coherence and technicality of the corps de ballet. The tremendous work with the artists was carried out by the assistants of Yuri Grigorovich - Ruslan Pronin and Oksana Tsvetnitskaya. They transfer the performances of the maestro to the stages of the best theaters in Russia, Kazakhstan, China, Korea, Belgium, etc.
“The Legend of Love” is one of the most popular performances in the repertory of the “Astana Ballet” Theatre. About 70 artists take part in it, including graduates of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography. For many of them, this performance became significant: after the premiere, they received an invitation to work in the troupe of the theatre.
Especially for the |Astana Ballet|, in Moscow and Nur Sultan, sets and costumes were created according to historical passports and sketches. The laconic design of the scene is presented in the form of an open folio from which the main characters appear. As the plot progresses, the pages of the book also change, which depict the scene: the bed of Shirin, the facade of the palace and the view of the mountains.
According to the plot, Queen Mehmene Banu sacrifices her fabulous beauty in order to save the life of her younger sister Shirin. What a tragedy this sacrifice turned out for her, to whom of the sisters a beautiful young man Ferkhad would give his heart and whether it is possible to cut a love triangle without loss - all this can be found on November 9 and 10 at the “Astana Ballet” Theatre.
