The triumph of classical dance at the “Astana Ballet”

On November 20-21, the “Astana Ballet” Theater hold evenings of classical ballet art, during which the troupe presented the premiere of the “Triumph” divertissement staged by the choreographer Ainura Abilgazina. In addition, the audience saw the one-act ballet "Serenade" by George Balanchine, as well as fragments from the ballet "Diversity" by Ricardo Amarante.

The "Triumph" to the music of Tchaikovsky became the first major work of Ainura Abilgazina on the stage of her native theater. Both evenings she had to act not only as a choreographer, but also as a soloist.

“It was a little difficult to combine rehearsals according to the repertoire, to stage a production, to resolve issues with costume design. But working with the artists gave me great pleasure. I see that they like my production and it was important for me to give them the opportunity to show themselves. I am grateful to everyone for the work done”, -  says Ainura Abilgazina.

Weslley Carvalho was the soloist with her in the production: “I know what a special moment it was for Ainura and I tried to support her not only on the stage, keeping her in the air, but also morally behind the scenes”, - said the soloist of the “Astana Ballet” theater.

According to the choreographer, "Triumph" is a glorification of classical art, admiration expressed in the language of academic dance. The fifteen-minute performance was full of difficult lifts and spins. And the artists once again proved that they are subject to any dance genres, be it neoclassic, contemporary, modern or the basis of the foundations - classical ballet.

“Russian ballet is famous all over the world, and we study according to the Vaganov education system. By the way, our male training is stronger than in many countries. And in my performance, I would like to pay tribute to what was brought up in us, what we were taught”, - said Ainur Abilgazina.

The orchestra under the direction of conductor Arman Urazgaliyev received an especially thunderous applause. They delighted the metropolitan audience with their pure performance and unsurpassed skill. According to the maestro, they needed only one orchestral rehearsal to put together the entire program, which included works by seven composers: Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Antonio Vivaldi, Ludwig Minkus, Alexander Glazunov, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Charles Gounod and Camille Saint-Saens.

Both evenings of classical ballet passed with great success, despite the small number of people in the hall due to the rules of sanitary and epidemiological standards.

“I would like to emphasize the delicate artistic taste of Ainura. The choice of music is complex, polyphonic, which not every young and novice choreographer will dare to tackle. I think she managed to convey the mood of the music in her choreography. I am very happy for our youth, who are so brave, because they are talented”, - said Alila Alisheva, vice-rector for educational work of KazNAC.

“The young choreographer Ainura Abilgazina managed to clearly and talentedly express in her production the triumph of love and admiration for the classical academic dance, which she herself brilliantly demonstrated and achieved from her performers coherence and bright performance! I saw and was sincerely glad how our girls and boys grew up and matured professionally. Bravo!”, - said the artistic director of the Almaty School named after Seleznev, Lyudmila Li.

By the way, in December, fans of the capital's theater will see traditional New Year's Eve performances - "Cinderella" and "Nutcracker".
