On March 4 and 5, the Astana Ballet Theater hosted a gala concert dedicated to the International Women's Day. Residents and guests of the capital enjoyed the masterpieces of world ballet classics and the author's classical choreography. Both evenings were a great success, a standing ovation throughout the concert is the main confirmation of this.
In the first part, the audience was presented with a varied gala ballet program with the participation of the leading soloists of the theater, which included pas de deux, duets and trios from such ballets as La Bayadere by L. Minkus, Spartacus by A. Khachaturian, Le Corsaire A. Adana, "Chopiniana" by F. Chopin, "Satanilla" by C. Pugni and others.
One of the highlights of the evening was the premiere of Pas d'action from Marius Petipa's La Bayadère to music by Ludwig Minkus. Maira Kadyrova, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, transferred a fragment from the performance to the stage of the capital's theater. The main female part on the first day of the premiere was performed by the leading soloist of the theater Ainur Abilgazina, on the second - the first soloist Anar Dukiyeva. As for the main male part, the leading soloist Sundet Sultanov shone in the role of Solor for two evenings in a row.
A magnificent wedding ceremony unfolded on the stage of the theater, in which the daughter of the Raja Gamzatti and the noble warrior Solor take part. Pas d'action from La Bayadère is one of the climactic scenes of the ballet, which allowed the artists to demonstrate their technical and acting skills. From the very first performance, the ballet La Bayadère has been hailed by contemporary critics as one of the greatest masterpieces of the choreographer Marius Petipa. This is a beautiful story about love, loyalty and betrayal, shrouded in Indian motifs.
In the second part, fans of choreographic art saw the divertissement "Triumph" to the music of P. Tchaikovsky directed by choreographer Ainura Abilgazina, which became her first major work on the stage of her native theater. According to the choreographer, this is a celebration of classical art, admiration expressed in the language of academic dance. The production, which combines elegance, refinement and sublimity, is full of complex lifts and rotations.
Both evenings the soloists of the Astana Ballet Theater performed on stage: Darina Kairasheva, Ilya Manaenkov, Farhad Buriev, Nazerke Aimukhametova, Riza Kanatkyzy, Ansagan Kobentai, Aidan Kalzhan and other dancers.
It is worth noting that on April 1 and 2, the premiere of the masterpiece of modern ballet Falling Angels by the famous choreographer Jiri Kilian to music by Steve Reich will take place on the stage of the Astana Ballet Theater.
The event was held with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
