The most anticipated theatrical event: Astana Ballet tour to Almaty

The Astana Ballet Theater is preparing to win the hearts of audiences on its annual tour to Almaty. On the stage of the Almaty Theatre, the capital's collective will present a multi-genre show bill: classical and modern choreographic performances, a concert by opera star Maria Mudryak and a unique show program.

On April 7, the theater will open its tour with a concert by world opera star Maria Mudryak and the symphony orchestra of the Astana Ballet Theater. The conductor of the concert will be Giuseppe Acquaviva, the soloist will be Damir Saduakhasov. This evening, the masterpieces of Italian opera will harmoniously combine with the lyricism of a French aria, the romance of an Austrian operetta will meet with the hot, playful Spanish zarzuela, and the famous Carmen overture will fill the evening with an exciting atmosphere of passion and drama of this famous opera.

On April 10, original performances by the theater's chief choreographer Mukaram Abubakhriyeva (Avakhri) will be presented. In the first part of the evening, fans of choreographic art will be able to enjoy the ballet “Salome” to the music of Fazil Say. Inspired by Oscar Wilde's work of the same name, the choreographer managed to turn the ballet narrative into a philosophical parable, revealing the dark and light depths of the human soul.

The second part of the evening will feature choreographic variations on Abai’s poems - a bright and philosophical performance “The Language of Love” to the music of Renat Salavatov, Karl Jenkins and Khamit Shangaliyev. The ballet includes eight variations: Illumination, Segiz ayak, Seasons, Kozimnin karasy, Toi bastar, Tatiana's Letter, The Poet's Plea, Zhelsiz tunde...

On April 13 and 14, a large-scale performance of “Romeo and Juliet” will be shown to the music of Sergei Prokofiev and choreography by Vladimir Yakovlev, which will be accompanied by a symphony orchestra led by Arman Urazgaliev. The performance conveys the subtlest psychological movements of the human soul, the richness of Shakespeare's thought, the passion and drama of his first of the most perfect tragedies.

And the tour will end on April 16 with a unique show program “Melodic show” performed by talented artists who will demonstrate a new, completely original concert format. The program includes bright and recognizable instrumental works, jazz and modern hits in original arrangements: John Kander – NEW YORK, NEW YORK; Andrew Lloyd Webber – The Phantom of the Opera; Claude Bolling – Suite for Flute & Jazz Piano Trio; Rondo Veneziano – Armonie for oboe & violin; Kim Soo Jin – B Rossette; Zequinha de Abréu – Tico Tico; Drum Show (drummer show) and other multi-genre numbers.

The tour will take place with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
