On March 8 and 9, "Astana Ballet" theater will present the ballet "Awakening of Spring", dedicated to the International Women's Day.
Various emotional plays of the festive concert reveal certain aspects of nature of the beautiful half of humanity. A single keynote that ties them together is an easy romantic mood, hovering in the air in anticipation of spring.
Gentle "Melody" by Gluck will be performed by the soloists Ainur Nuspekova and Farhad Buriyev in the first part of the concert. The author of this famous play Asaf Messerer once gave it to a young student, future ballet star, Marina Kondratieva and the legendary Bolshoi dancer Maris Liepa. The ballerina on her partner's outstretched hand seems to float in the air and, inspired by a light gas scarf, seems quite weightless.
“California Poppy” is dedicated to Anna Pavlova's name, the personification of ballet art. Trembling petals of a spring flower that are about to fall from the whiff of wind embody her interpretation of the transience of life on the music of Peter Tchaikovsky. Soloists of the ballet Nadezhda Omarova and Ainur Abilgazina will show themselves in this role.
Riza Kanatkyzy and Tatyana Ten, leading soloists of the ballet, will flash in the parties from the ballet "Diversity". The first fragment of Pietro Mascagni will become a romantic hymn to eternal love, and another passage to the music of Massenet will play in contrast with the impetuous flight of Spanish motifs.
In addition to these miniatures, the music of Rachmaninov, Gounod and Minkus will also be performed in the first section, and the final scene from “Cleopatra” ballet by Maurice Ravel is selected as the last performance. Choreographer Nikolai Markelov chose, perhaps, the most famous composition of the composer and gave it a slightly different sound, transferring the action to the deserts of Egypt. The sharp rhythm captures the listeners' attention, and bright stylized costumes and a capricious dance pattern fascinate the eye, like a bizarre kaleidoscope.
One-act ballet "A fuego Lento" by Ricardo Amarante, which is already popular with the public, will take place in the second section in which spectators can feel the whole palette of feelings that arise when a young man meets a girl: from the first interest to the all-consuming passion. In order to create emotional heat, the choreographer uses elements of the Brazilian samba dance. The incendiary sparkling coloring distinguishes this performance in the theater repertoire, it is equally loved by both spectators and artists.
