Must-See in Astana Ballet

Artists of the “Astana Ballet” Theatre prepared an amazing program for the metropolitan audience, which will be shown on October 12. “One-act ballet evening” is worth to see if you want to plunge into the world of modern choreography.

In the first part, the audience expects the one-act ballet of the Kazakh choreographer Mukaram Avakhri - “Salome”. The shocking interpretation of the famous biblical story laid the basis for the creation of the main choreographer of the “Astana Ballet” Theatre. During a tour of the theater in London's Covent Garden, this production made a furor among the audience and the British press. Thus, a major British portal about the ballet “Seeing Dance” wrote:

“This is an amazing work in an incredible performance that can easily decorate any international scene. The delightful score of the Turkish composer Fazil Say throughout the whole action prepares the audience for the inevitable bloody ending”.

Sensual Salome will be performed by the leading soloist of the “Astana Ballet” Theatre Darina Kairasheva, who made her debut in this party in London.

In the second section, the company will present the most famous work of the American choreographer William Forsythe - “In the middle, Somewhat Elevated”. A stunning production, in which there is everything: brutal music, choreography, as if designed for mechanical muscles, but not for an ordinary human body, a continuous stream of movements.

“Astana Ballet” was the first theatre in Central Asia to stage performances in collaboration with William Forsythe in accordance with the standards of the style and technique of the choreographer.

The beginning of the performances: October 12 at 18:00.
