The concert “MANGI EL” at Astana Ballet Theater: national choreography to orchestral music

On October 28, a festive concert “MANGI EL” dedicated to the Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan will take place on the stage of the Astana Ballet Theater. The capital's troupe has prepared a rich program with a national flavor: selected examples of musical art, national instrumental music will be performed, and for the first time, unique choreographic miniatures from the divertissement “Heritage of the Great Steppe” will be presented on stage, accompanied by the symphony orchestra of the Astana Ballet Theater.

“One of the key features of the concert will be the display of national miniatures accompanied by orchestral music, which will add atmosphere and depth to the performance. The elegant interweaving of national choreography with live orchestral music, magnificent costumes and scenery, emphasizing the beauty of our culture, will create harmonious unity and the effect of complete immersion in what is happening on stage. Undoubtedly, the Astana Ballet Theater is an art that touches souls and makes spectators admire the beauty of national culture,” noted theater director Alexander Sovostyanov.

“The name was not chosen by chance: according to some historians, the great Genghis Khan, proclaiming the largest power in the history of mankind, called it “Mangi el” (Eternal Nation), and later European and Soviet historiography began to use the term “Mongol.” We sought to create a program that would immerse the audience in the unique atmosphere of our culture, national choreographic traditions and musical heritage and awaken pride in our heritage,” said chief conductor Arman Urazgaliev.

It is worth noting that the Astana Ballet Theater carefully prepares for the concert in order to offer the audience an unusual and memorable experience: each concert number was carefully selected and designed in such a way as to transport the audience to the wonderful world of national art and cultural heritage, where the sounds of music and dance merged into a harmonious unity. The sound of national and classical instruments creates a unique atmosphere and aesthetics on stage.

“The magnificent choreographic miniatures from the divertissement “Heritage of the Great Steppe” in a new interpretation will become a real revelation for our audience, and live orchestral music will become the heart of our concert. Its sound will add depth and emotionality to each performance, allowing the audience to plunge into the wonderful world of music and dance, to feel the strength and beauty of our national history,” concluded the artistic director of the theater Nurlan Kanetov.

The event will be held with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
