At the beginning of September, the X anniversary theatrical season will open at the Astana Ballet Theatre with “The Silk Road” performance staged by Mukaram Avakhri. According to the directorate of the theatre, the new season promises to be especially vivid, interesting and eventful: premieres of performances for children and adults, author-created productions, concerts of symphonic music, and favourite ballets from the actual repertoire will be presented on the stage of the theatre with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
On September 24 and 25, the “Names” concert by the Symphony Orchestra of the Astana Ballet Theatre under the baton of chief conductor Arman Urazgaliyev takes place. The program of the evening will feature the gems of world music classics: the Festive Overture by D. Shostakovich, as well as Concerto No. 1 for Piano and Orchestra and Symphony No. 4 by P. Tchaikovsky.
“We are opening the new season with a concert with one of the brightest stars of Kazakhstan, an outstanding figure and musician Jania Aubakirova. It is a great honor and valuable experience for us, an opportunity to find new sides and shades in Music. We hope that this concert will open a whole series of concerts by the most famous musicians of our country. This is invaluable experience, knowledge and, of course, vivid impressions for our young team”, shared Kalamkas Jumabayeva.
The soloist is People’s Artist of Kazakhstan Jania Aubakirova. She has been given many national and international titles and awards for her active work in the sphere of culture and education: a laureate of the State Peace and Progress Award by the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a laureate of the State Award of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters of France, a winner of the European Union of Arts Award, and a laureate of the Independent Platinum Tarlan Award.
“I was very enthusiastic about the invitation of conductor Arman Urazgaliyev to perform concerts with the orchestra of the Astana Ballet Theatre. The last time I was on tour in Almaty, I heard Arman, a graduate of the Conservatory, whom I previously knew as an excellent instrumentalist and thoughtful musician. Having heard him several times as a conductor, I was very happy for him and for the theatre. Last time I performed in 2019, and I have not yet performed in front of capital’s listeners after the pandemic. I offered a choice of four piano concertos – by A. Scriabin, the 2nd concerto by C. Saint-Saëns, the 1st concerto by J.Brahms, and the 1st concert by P.I. Tchaikovsky. Arman chose Tchaikovsky, and I agreed delightedly. I practice and prepare for the concert with a special feeling, I really missed the “big play”! I look forward to happy moments of playing music together and meeting with the capital’s piano admirers”, said Jania Aubakirova.
Tchaikovsky’s creative activity, combining the richness and vividness of the material with a wide virtuoso range and symphonic scale, has become a new dawn in the world of musical art. His works that will be performed in this concert are the lyrical inspiration of the music, the amazing richness of colours, and the generosity of melodic invention.
In addition to the extraordinary demand among performers, these popular works have managed to win over the hearts of the public, as well as enjoy constant love all over the world for more than one century. Those power and passion with which those outstanding composers lived and created are timeless. Their art has become our legacy.
