Harmony of French and Kazakh Musical Classics

The “Gala Symphony” concert includes works by Paul Dukas, Camille Saint-Saëns, Maurice Ravel, as well as Adil Bestybaev and Evgeny Brusilovsky.  French music is one of the most interesting European musical cultures. Its rich traditions root deeply. The concert will feature the famous symphonic poems by Camille Saint-Saëns “Danse Macabre” and Paul Dukas “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” (symphonic poem), as well as “Bolero” by Maurice Ravel. The concert will open and end with the performance of masterpieces of Kazakh musical culture that have become classics of national music: “Dudarai” by Evgeny Brusilovsky, “Kyz Kuu” by Tles Kazhgaliyev, and “Asia Dauysy” by Adil Bestybayev. The rich Kazakh musical culture has deep roots in the past, and therefore its language is rich and diverse. The twentieth century enriched it with new forms and genres. Two outstanding and iconic pieces of music are loved by listeners and are enthusiastically received by the public.

         The concert will feature compositions created by geniuses. This music rises above its epoch, it is lively and harmonious, and therefore it is timeless. Majestic and beautiful, it absorbed the spiritual heritage of French and Kazakh musical culture. Reflecting the cultural traditions and customs of different peoples, it remarkably accurately and subtly conveys the national zest. At the same time, music is the universal language of mankind. The concert of the Symphony orchestra of the Astana Ballet Theatre will give inspiration and unforgettable emotions to all listeners.

         The concert of the Symphony orchestra of the Astana Ballet Theatre will take place on November 8 and 9 at the Turkestan Musical Drama Theatre.
