“It was better than we could imagine” - the performance of «Astana Ballet» artists delighted the Pavlodar public

On November 1 and 2, the «Astana Ballet» theatrе tours were successfully held in Pavlodar. On the stage of the Palace of Culture named after Estay, the metropolitan collective first presented a program of three one-act neoclassical ballets: the world-famous masterpiece “Serenade” by George Balanchine, as well as two works by the theatre’s guest choreographer Ricardo Amarante “Love Fear Loss” and “A Fuego Lento”.

According to the chief choreographer of the “Astana Ballet” Theatre, Mukaram Avakhri, the artistic management approached the choice of the tour program with special care: the program that the theatre performed in Pavlodar three years ago was taken into account, the technical capabilities of the stage, and most importantly - the main idea and message.

“If the Swan Lake is a certain landmark in the classical heritage, then in neoclassical choreography the very starting point is Balanchine’s performances. Tchaikovsky’s music, choreographic drawings that pleasing to the eye, purity of lines - “Serenade” has a beneficial effect on consciousness, upbringing of taste and spiritual enrichment. In addition, we have two excellent compositions, the artists performed at a high professional level, just as if they had performed in the capital city stage or the European stage”, - said Mukaram Avakhri, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan.

In the second section, the evening continued with the work of the Brazilian choreographer Ricardo Amarante - “Love Fear Loss” and “A Fuego Lento”. The audience noted the emotionality, sensuality and technical skill of the artists. Both days of performances were held at a full house, to stormy applause and exclamations of “bravo”.

“Fantastic performance! The artists made an indelible impression on me with their skill: it seemed they were not dancing - they were hovering over the stage! And, of course, that emotional intensity, it was felt in every movement. I think none of the spectators left here as before”, - said the spectator Arman Zhumagaliyev.

“It was unbelievable: so much emotion, beauty and grace! It was even better than we could have imagined! We are very happy and grateful to the artists for this holiday for all residents of Pavlodar. We hope that such tours of the “Astana Ballet” Theatre will become a good annual tradition”, - said spectator Assol Mufassalinova.

By the way, in December the “Astana Ballet” Theatre will present a new premiere - the two-act ballet “Cinderella” to the music of composers of the 19-21 centuries. The choreographer will be the Russian balletmaster Nadezhda Kalinina.
