«Astana Ballet» will once again present Forsythe to the Kazakhstan public

An incredible gift from the Theater will be received by residents and guests of the capital city on International Women's Day - four one-act ballets, one of which was created by the “heir of Balanchine” and is recognized as a world masterpiece.

"In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated" by American choreographer William Forsythe, a recognized genius of modernity with a confusing title, was first shown on the capital stage on November 4, 2017. By the way, the legendary ballet was staged by Agnes Noltenius, who worked with the choreographer for 12 years and all this time has always been his muse.

It is worth noting that a kind of revolution in ballet is associated with the name of Forsythe, which to a large extent determined the development of this art at the turn of the centuries. His choreography casts doubt on the presence of gravity, with the result that virtuosity is born on the verge of human capabilities. Extreme technique and a continuous stream of movements to the brutal music will not leave indifferent any viewer.

On the same day, the triplet of ballets from invited choreographer from Brazil, Ricardo Amarante, will also be presented to the audience. Among them are such well-known productions as “A Fuego Lento” and “Love Fear Loss”, staged for the Royal Ballet of Flanders and later transferred to the Astana Ballet stage.

“A Fuego Lento” or (“Slow Fire”) is a ballet about the first feelings of love and desire. The feeling of increasing heat and emotional glow - all this slowly burns from the inside. In this ballet passion in every scene, dressed in seductive rhythms of sensual tango.

Another ballet of the famous choreographer “Love Fear Loss” tells about the difficult fate and tragic love of the French singer Edith Piaf.

Ricardo Amarante's new, no less interesting work should be the neo-classical ballet “Silent Voices”. For the first time, this ballet will be shown to the broad public on the stage of the “Astana Ballet”. In the production, according to the choreographer himself, the music of string quartet No. 14 in D minor “Death and Maid” by the Austrian composer Franz Schubert, one of the founders of romanticism in music, will be used.

With the help of plastic language means, the choreographer intends to tell about inner voices - invisible interlocutors, which convey an inner emotional state, a person’s experience, confusion or fear, hope or doubt. Using the expressive possibilities of the performers' bodies and the original lighting solution, the choreographer promises to create an organic, emotional, and at the same time rich dance drama. It is worth noting that all the performances of Ricardo Amarante delight the public and get a squall of applause.
