A tour of the capital theater "Astana Ballet" is passing in Almaty on the stage of GATOB named after Abay
The tour program of the theater was opened by the legendary play "Serenade" by George Balanchine and "Zhusan" by the domestic choreographer Mukaram Avakhri.
"It's very exciting to go to the native scene of GATOB named after Abay. It is not easy to speak, it is a kind of indicator of independent evaluation of our teachers, ballet masters and of course exacting spectators. Surprising is not a part of our task, most likely to please more and bring happiness," the chief choreographer of the theater Mukaram Avakhri shared excitement before the performance.
According to the invited choreographer Ricardo Amarante, the performance "Serenade" is the result of painstaking work with the J. Balanchine foundation which gave the right to stage and show the famous masterpiece of modern choreography of the XX century on tour in Kazakhstan.
"We are very pleased to represent our performances at one of the historical stages of Kazakhstan. The diverse six performances and the concert program "Astana Ballet Gala" will tell us about the creative search of our team," Ricardo Amarante said.
The guests and spectators are seated, the light goes out, the hall is frozen in anticipation. The beautiful music of Peter Tchaikovsky, graceful and noble choreography, fluttering images of dancers led the audience into the world of the beautiful and unexplored.
"I saw a beautiful harmony of dance, bravo to the whole team! This is a completely different dimension and new images in dance art. Thank you for the wonderful inspiration and joy of creativity!" the Honored Artist of Kazakhstan Eduard Molbekov shared his impressions.
Minimalism reigns on the stage in the production of Balanchine: simple costumes, light decorations. The main thing is the fusion of music and dance. "Astana Ballet" artists showed an elegant and noble dance, demonstrated the accuracy of plastic drawing and revealed the soul of the neoclassical masterpiece in this new choreography.
In the second section, the audience saw "Zhusan" one-act ballet by Mukaram Avakhri. The author of the libretto is the honored figure of the RK Bakhyt Kairbekov, the music - by Kuat Shildebayev, Arvo Pärt, Karl Jenkins and Sergei Rachmaninov. Actors - wormwood, people, centaurs, the called, steppe hunters.
Special color and mysticism of the play was reached with combination of original choreography with great samples of European, Russian and folk music, light effects and video installations, it gave a total immersion into the atmosphere of this great journey through the wilderness, shrouded in legends and myths.
"Iit is very important to try out new images and guises: in neo-classical style, modern classics and national choreography. In some performances, the choreographers make it possible to improvise and show our potential and abilities. This makes us very happy and stimulates new creative searches," the lead soloist of the theater Riza Kanatkyzy said.
"The images that you see on stage accompanied by music, scenery and plastics, are fascinating. I am very glad that the troupe is growing, it opens its wings and starts to rise in the air, sees not only Kazakhstan, but also other countries. Art is reflected in ballet, in movies and other aspects, this is its immortality and longevity," the author of libretto Bakhyt Kairbekov says.
"The performance struck by its enormous strength, creative power and potential. It harmoniously intertwined the fate and history of our land, poetry of the boundless steppe. Bold decision of the author of the choreography Mukaram Avakhri, impeccable performance of the artists, all the components of the play were formed into a single whole and beat as one heart. I experienced great creative inspiration. I am extremely pleased and proud that such wonderful creative flights are born in our country," the Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, artistic director of the "Samruk" modern dance theater Gulnara Adamova said.
Today, the public will see the masterpiece by William Forsythe "In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated" and the play by Mukaram Avakhri "Salome".
