Бурибаев Елмар Аскарович

Graduated from the Kulyash Baiseitova Republican Specialized Music School for Gifted Children, specialising in cello (2013), the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory in opera and symphonic conducting (2017), the Conservatorio di Musica Giuseppe Verdi with a master’s in opera and symphonic conducting (2020), and the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2022).
Awarded a diploma at the International Opera Conducting Competition in Romania (2016). Trained in London, Berlin, St. Petersburg, Rome and Milan.
Performed with orchestras in Italy, Romania, and with theatre orchestras across Kazakhstan.
Made his debut as an opera conductor in 2022 at the Teatro Mancinelli (Italy) with Giacomo Puccini’s La Bohème.
Since 2022, he has been working with Astana Ballet and Astana Opera, where he is the music director and conductor for Puss in Boots by César Cui, and contemporary ballets such as Jiří Kylián’s works to Mozart’s music, Soli Deo Gloria to Mahler, The Snow Queen by Rustem Salimov, and others. He also conducts a variety of productions in the current repertoire of these theatres (Turandot by Puccini, Don Pasquale by Donizetti, Romeo and Juliet by Prokofiev, Scheherazade by Rimsky-Korsakov) and symphonic concerts.
