1992-1996 - Soloist of the Abai State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater (Almaty).
1996-2018 - Leading soloist of the Tatar State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Musa Jalil.
2018-2021 - Dean of the Faculty of Choreography of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography.
Since 2021 - Artistic Director of the “Astana Ballet” Theater
On the stage of the Tatar State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Musa Jalil he performed parts in the performances: “Swan Lake” by P. Tchaikovsky (Prince Siegfried), “Giselle” by A. Adan (Count Albert), The “Sleeping Beauty” by P. Tchaikovsky (Prince Désiré ), “Romeo and Juliet” by S. Prokofiev (Romeo), “A Vain Precaution” by L. Gerold (Colin), “Anyuta” by V. Gavrilin (Student), “Carmen Suite” by J. Bizet - R. Shchedrin (Jose) , "Le Corsaire" by A. Adana (Isaac Lankedem), "La Bayadere" by L. Minkus (Solor), "Coppelia" by L. Delibes (Franz), "Spartacus" by A. Khachaturian (Crassus), "The Legend of Yusuf" (Yusuf) , "Lady with Camellias" (Armand), "Golden Horde" (Vizier), "Carmina Burana, or Wheel of Fortune" (Guy), "Esmeralda" (Claude Frollo) and others. Participant of the annual Rudolf Nureyev International Classical Ballet Festivals.
N.I. Kanetov was awarded the State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of literature and art "For the development of the traditions of the national epic in modern conditions of the dialogue of cultures." The prize was awarded for the performance of the title role in the ballet “The Legend of Yusuf”.
